Man injured in Brentwood Mall parking lot shooting

Police are investigating after a man was shot near Brentwood Mall in Burnaby, B.C., at around 8:30 pm PT Saturday night.

Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Lea-Anne Dunlop said police arrived and found the wounded man in the mall's parking lot.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, she said.

Officers spoke with a number of witnesses and began canvassing for surveillance footage from businesses in the area. No arrests were made.

"We do believe we're looking for two suspects," Dunlop said.

Dunlop also said there is currently no threat to public safety.

"There is some indication that the individuals may be known to each other," she said.

Officers searched for evidence in a vehicle that remained parked at the scene of the shooting. (CBC)
