Kamloops RCMP investigating homicide on Tranquille Road

Police say the victim was taken to hospital on Friday night after being assaulted by another man.

A man in Kamloops, B.C., has died after being assaulted on Friday night, say RCMP.

Police say they were called to Tranquille Road near MacKenzie Avenue at 4:47 p.m. PT. 

When RCMP got to the scene, they found the 30-year-old victim with serious injuries. Staff Sgt. Edward Preto said the victim had been been assaulted by another man, who fled before officers arrived. 

Preto said the victim was taken to hospital, but he died of his injuries at about 11:25 p.m. PT. 

Kamloops RCMP said they're investigating the homicide and are still searching for the suspect.
