The families of two young men believed drowned in a lake near Merritt, B.C. have enlisted new help to recover the bodies of their teenaged sons.
Brendan Wilson and Austin Kingsborough, both 17, did not return home after canoeing on Nicola Lake a week ago.
Now retirees Gene and Sandy Ralston have been called in from Idaho in the hope their expertise in side-scan sonar will help locate the bodies of the boys.
The technology produces images of the deepest, darkest recesses of lakes – and has already helped the Ralstons find 84 people across North America.Nicola Lake near Merritt, B.C.
The boys were camping on a family property near the lake, about 150 kilometres west of Kelowna.
An RCMP search, as well as searches conducted by friends and family were not successful in recovering the bodies.
The Ralstons hope to be searching Nicola Lake later this week, asking only for their expenses to be covered.
