IHIT took over case after young adult man injured Saturday morning died in hospital
The Lower Mainland's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over a case in B.C.'s Fraser Valley after a man died in hospital Saturday afternoon from injuries he received earlier in the day.
Police are releasing few details about the victim or what took place in Agassiz early Saturday morning, but IHIT's Sgt. Bari Emam said a person is in custody in connection with the man's death.
“There is no evidence to suggest that this homicide was connected to gang activity nor was it a random act. I can also confirm that we have one adult man in custody in relation to this homicide," Emam said.
"The victim and the person in custody are known to each other," he said.
