An over 100-year-long tradition gets underway Saturday, with the opening of the Fair at the PNE.
This year, organizers hope the Genghis Khan exhibit will boost attendance at the Pacific National Exhibition, which features rides, music, culture and food.
"We think [it] is going to be a lot of fun, very educational, interactive, and allow people to get the experience of a walk-through pavilion which we hadn't had for a number of years," said Laura Ballance, a spokesperson for the PNE.
Ballance says they're hoping for about 800,000 visitors this year.
The price of admission is cheaper -- $16 compared to last year's $20 fare.
The Fair opens Saturday at 11 a.m.
