Firefighters battling house fire in West Vancouver

Five fire engines and approximately 20 fire fighters are currently battling a house fire at a single family home on the 1000 block of Hillside Drive in West Vancouver.

One male escaped uninjured, but home is significantly damaged

About 20 firefighters and five engines were required to put out a blaze in West Vancouver today. (CBC)

Five fire engines and approximately 20 firefighters have extinguished a fire at a single family home on the 1000 block of Hillside Drive in West Vancouver.

According to officials, the blaze started in the garage and quickly spread to the house.

One teenage male escaped without injury, but the house has sustained significant damage.

Fire investigators are currently on the scene. It is expected they will be there through the night and into the weekend to determine the cause of the fire.
