Fatal stabbing is Vancouver's 1st homicide of 2014
Police say two men have been arrested based on tips from witnesses
One man is dead and two men have been arrested following a stabbing in downtown Vancouver on Sunday night, marking Vancouver's first homicide of 2014.
Police and ambulance were first called out just after 11 p.m. PT to Granville and West Georgia streets after receiving reports a man that had been stabbed in a fight.
Const. Randy Fincham says when police arrived, they found an unconscious man on the sidewalk with a life-threatening stab wound. The 28-year-old was rushed to hospital for surgery, but he died around 2 a.m.
Police arrested two men believed to be involved in the incident, based on tips from witnesses.
