Fatal shooting in Surrey

There has been a fatal shooting in Surrey, B.C., RCMP say. The victim was found near two cars apparently involved in the incident when the slaying occurred just after 3:30 p.m. PT.
A broad daylight shooting in the Whalley area has left at least one person dead, the CBC's Renee Filippone reports live from the scene 1:14

There has been a fatal shooting in Surrey, B.C., RCMP say.

Aerial news footage from the scene near 111 Avenue and 132 Street show two black SUVs with yellow police tarps on them and one tarp apparently covering a body on the ground nearby and another tarp across the street from that.

Three of the four coverings are protecting evidence and are not concealing other bodies, police have told CBC News.

The shooting occurred just after 3:30 p.m. PT.

Witnesses report hearing between 12 and 20 quick shots being fired.

The victim is reported to be male, but that has not been confirmed.

There is no word on any other injuries or arrests.
