Family Day in B.C. gets a fresh dump of snow

A winter storm did not dump as much snow as forecast on Metro Vancouver and other communities on B.C.'s South Coast, but it has left some fresh snow on the local ski hills just in time for the province's second Family Day.

A winter storm did not dump as much snow as forecast on Metro Vancouver and other communities on B.C.'s South Coast, but it has left some fresh snow on the local ski hills just in time for the province's second Family Day.

On Vancouver's North Shore, Mount Seymour is reporting eight cm of fresh snow. Whistler has only record two centimetres, but there is more than 50 centimetres in the long -term forecast.

Most ski resorts are offering significant discounts of up to 50 per cent off on Family Day.

Skiing isn't the only way to enjoy the winter weather. Tubing and snowshoeing are just a few of the outdoor activities to enjoy at B.C.'s ski resorts on February 10.
