2) Surrey Doors Open

48 sites are participating for the third year in Newton, Bear Creek and Cloverdale. You can also take a stroll on the City Centre Public Art Walk.

3) Summer Solstice Party at Sea to Sky Gondola

If you haven't already taken a ride on the new gondola, here's a good excuse. What better way to celebrate summer than up on top of a mountain with a million dollar view?

The Sea to Sky Gondola is celebrating the Summer Solstice with music and running (Sea to Sky Gondola )

The event includes a morning Skyline Ridge Run and a nature photography exhibit, along with live music into the evening.

4) 24th Annual Strawberry Festival in the West End

Strawberry shortcake. Need I say more?
All right then — music by Black Gardenia and the Heritage Harmonies Choir, as well as the Happy Hookers' Craft Sale,  face painting and a bouncy castle.

5) Vancouver International Jazz Festival

Jill Barber will be giving a concert as part of the 2014 Vancouver International Jazz Festival (Jill Barber/Coastal Jazz)

The annual jazz fest offers a full day of free music downtown at the Robson Stage.
Ticketed concerts feature Jill Barber, Arturo Sandoval, Jason Marsalis, Maceo Parker and Bobby McFerrin. A pretty smashing lineup!

6) South Granville Art Walk
