Daniel Alphonse Paul sought in homicide of Vancouver woman
Police believe 42-year-old suspect knows they are looking for him
Vancouver police are once again calling on the public to help them find Daniel Alphonse Paul, a 42-year-old suspect, in connection with the city's third homicide of the year.
A woman's body was found last Tuesday in the basement suite of a home on East 22nd Street near Main Street.
Detectives believe the 36-year-old woman was murdered, and police are looking for Paul in connection with the incident.
Sgt. Randy Fincham said a number of tips have come in from the Abbotsford and Chilliwack, B.C. areas.
"We do believe that he knows the police are looking for him," said Fincham.
"We have had a number of tips since Friday when we appealed to the public to help locate him. Since Friday, he has actually been upgraded from a person of interest to a suspect as a result of the investigation."
He is described as:
- five feet eight inches tall
- medium build
- brown eyes
- short black hair
- has tattoos of an eagle, a rat, a knife, a skull and a buffalo on his left arm
- has tattoos of a skull with a rose and a heart on his right arm
Police are asking anyone who has seen him to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
