Cyclist Bruce Rickman's family is pleading for the driver of the vehicle that hit the father-of-two as he was riding his bicycle home from work July 30 to come forward.
The 55-year-old was struck from behind shortly before midnight near Kingsway Avenue by what police say was a larger Toyota vehicle such as a truck or a SUV.
The vehicle fled the scene, leaving Rickman on the road. He was unconscious when taken to hospital with what police describe as serious injuries.
On Thursday, outside the Royal Columbian Hospital where he remains, his wife Twyla made a tearful plea for the driver to turn himself in.
Rickman himself is a bus driver and friends say he had just finished a shift and was on the way to his home in Pitt Meadows when was hit.
Police have recovered a black, plastic, passenger-side mirror housing from the scene.
They're asking anyone who may have seen anything to call 604-945-1550 and quote file: 2014-21316.
