Crews mop up after train-truck mishap
Kamloops fire department and hazardous materials crews are cleaning up after an accident Friday morning between a train and a tanker truck.
The truck was carrying sodium hydroxide, a corrosive liquid also known as caustic soda.
The truck was hit by a train north of Kamloops just after 5 a.m.
The truck driver was not injured, but two train engineers were sprayed with the chemical and treated in hospital.
Kamloops RCMP Corporal Perry Penney said the situation is under control and the cleanup will take another two to three hours.
