Colby Jandrew charged in Abbotsford arsons
Five suspicous fires were reported in 48 hours in April
An Abbotsford man has been charged in connection with a series of suspected arson attacks in the city last month.
Colby Drew Jandrew, 20, has been charged with four counts of arson and one count of public mischief.
A total of five suspected arson incidents were reported in a space of 48 hours starting on April 16.
Jandrew was taken into custody over an unrelated break-and-enter incident after the fifth fire.
Const. Ian MacDonald says while Jandrew was in custody, he became a suspect in the arsons.
"Those three weeks afforded us the ability to continue our investigation, to bring more evidence forward, and then ultimately to have Mr. Jandrew arrested for the arsons," said MacDonald.
Jandrew was scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
Nobody was injured in any of the fires.
