RCMP in B.C.'s Fraser Valley are investigating a report of an attempted abduction in Chilliwack.

Police say a 14-year-old girl said she was walking along Gibson Road at about 6 p.m. PT Saturday evening when a car pulled up next to her.

The male driver grabbed her by the arm, police say, and told her to get in the car.

The girl was able to free herself and run away.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, around 45 years old with an athletic build and a potbelly.

He has long grey hair and a deep voice. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and grey sweat pants.

The car he was driving is described as a red, older model two-door vehicle with a rusted roof and hood. It has a ripped interior, is missing the passenger side mirror and the back seats had been ripped out.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611.
