Chase RCMP are investigating after a dead dog that had been shot in the head was found in the Shuswap community of Celista.

Chase RCMP are investigating after a dead dog that had been shot in the head was found in the Shuswap community of Celista.

Jay Foster posted a photos of the dog — which appears to be a male bulldog or bulldog cross — on Facebook Sunday morning. Foster wrote that he found the dog in the Crowfoot Mountain Snowmobile Club parking lot. 

In his post he says other than the fatal gunshot wound, the dog looked healthy and had no identifying tattoos.

The SPCA has also been notified.
