Charges laid in Kelowna woman's death
A 29-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a woman who police say disappeared when she went to make a drug deal in the Kelowna, B.C., area in April.
Police found the body of Brittney Lee Irving, 24, in an undisclosed location on May 25.
Joelon David Atish Verma was arrested on Friday. He has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery.
RCMP say Irving and Verma were going to meet to make a drug transaction the day she disappeared.
They say Verma is known to them, but does not have a criminal record.
Police said they would not disclose the cause of death.
