Police are looking for a man who carjacked a vehicle and smashed it into three parked cars and two buses Tuesday afternoon.
The carjacker caused chaos on Kingsway Avenue when he forced a woman into the passenger seat of her car shortly after 4 p.m. and drove off with the 31-year-old victim by his side.
The suspect eventually got out of the car and ran south on Tyne Street. The woman tried to chase after the man, but gave up after a short distance.
Police say they flooded the area with officers and used a dog to track the suspect, but they lost him after he made his way through a residential neighbourhood.
The victim suffered an injury to her knee during the incident and was taken to hospital by paramedics where she was treated for her injuries.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30’s, five feet eight inches tall, with a skinny build and a shaved head. He was wearing a striped cream-coloured shirt, black pants and possibly an orange or yellow jacket.
