A little more than a week after cyclist Bruce Rickman's family pleaded for the driver of the vehicle that hit the father-of-two to come forward, Coquitlam RCMP say he has done just that.
Police say the driver showed up with his 2007 Toyota Tacoma Aug 9, and identified himself as the person, and his vehicle as the truck involved in the collision on the Mary Hill bypass July 30.
Rickman, 55, was struck from behind shortly before midnight July 30 on the Mary Hill Bypass near Kingsway Avenue as he was riding his bicycle home from work.

The vehicle fled the scene, leaving Rickman on the road. He was unconscious when taken to hospital with what police described as serious injuries. Last week he was released from intensive care, but remained in hospital.
Friends said Rickman, a transit bus driver, had just finished a shift and was on his way home to Pitt Meadows when he was hit.
Police recovered a black plastic passenger-side mirror housing from the scene.
RCMP appeals for more tips
Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung says the driver is cooperating with police.
Even though the hit-and-run vehicle has been seized, police say their work is far from over and are again appealing to the public for more tips.
"In the coming weeks and months, we will be following up with the tips that we received and processing evidence in relation to this incident," said Chung.
"Even with this new development, we still need anyone with any information, no matter how minor you may think it is, to tell investigators what you know. Sometimes the most 'trivial' evidence can impact an investigation enormously, and only investigators can determine the value of the information you may have."
Chung is asking anyone who may have seen anything to call 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2014-21316.
