The discovery of a man's body near a False Creek marina on New Year's Eve has brought a two-year-long search to a sad end.

Matthew Huszar, 25, went missing after attending a Christmas party in Gastown on Dec. 16, 2011. Friends and family said he was a recent UBC grad with a good job, a girlfriend and a sailboat he was going to refurbish. (CBC)

Vancouver Police and the BC Coroners Service identified the remains as those of Matthew Huszar, who was 25 when he went missing on Dec. 16, 2011.

Huszar was last seen in Gastown shortly before midnight after leaving an office Christmas party at a pub in the 100 block of Water Street. The last image of him is from surveillance footage at a bank machine.

Police say foul play is not suspected at this time.
