Body of Matthew Huszar found in Vancouver's False Creek
25-year-old man's disappearance from Gastown a mystery for over 2 years
The discovery of a man's body near a False Creek marina on New Year's Eve has brought a two-year-long search to a sad end.
Vancouver Police and the BC Coroners Service identified the remains as those of Matthew Huszar, who was 25 when he went missing on Dec. 16, 2011.
Huszar was last seen in Gastown shortly before midnight after leaving an office Christmas party at a pub in the 100 block of Water Street. The last image of him is from surveillance footage at a bank machine.
Police say foul play is not suspected at this time.
