B.C. woman found off coast of Honduras
Tasha Brown was in Republic of Honduras on a working holiday
A B.C. woman who went missing in a boat off the coast of Honduras has been found safe.
Tasha Brown, 20, from Grand Forks, set off in a boat Saturday with two Americans and five Hondurans.
The group was last seen in Roatan, which was their destination, but the U.S. and Honduran coast guards were sent to look for the boat when it failed to return to Utila.
Brown's mother, Natalie Zmurchyk, said she got word on Facebook Wednesday morning that the boat and her daughter had been found about 100 kilometres from shore.
"I am so thankful," Zmurchyk said. "I am thankful to our Lord who looks after them and us. If it wasn't for all those prayers out there throughout the world, I don't know if they would have been found."
Brown is a medic from Grand Forks, B.C., who was in Honduras on a working holiday.
