Three Saskatchewan men, who were reportedly skiing out of bounds, have been taken to hospital after being caught in an avalanche that they apparently triggered near Golden, B.C. on Tuesday.

The men, all in their early 20s, were skiing out-of-bounds near the Terminator 2 area of the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort around 2:00 p.m. PT when the avalanche struck, Const. Kris Clark said.

Clark said one of the men was able to call 911 and the safety team from the resort was able to quickly locate them.

Two of the men suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries, while the third was apparently uninjured.

All three have been taken to hospital.
