Autopsy set in Surrey, B.C. party killing
An autopsy will be conducted on the victim of a fatal shooting at a party in Surrey, B.C., police said Sunday.
No arrests have been made in the incident, which occurred just after 3 a.m. Saturday at a party in the Newton neighbourhood.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said it appears the victim, 28, was killed by a gunshot, but an autopsy would be required to establish the official cause of death. The man had no criminal record, she said.
Media reports in Vancouver said the occupants of the home in the 13100 block of 67 A Avenue had only moved into the home in the past week.
Police continue to canvas the area for witnesses.
The victim's name has not been released because his family has yet to be notified.
