RCMP have released a surveillance camera video of an armed gunman who held up a jewelry store and shot at police officers in Kelowna, B.C., Tuesday afternoon.

The owner of Premier Jewelry and Loans, Martin Strasser, said he watched in shock as the robber pointed a handgun at his employee’s face while she was loading jewelry into a duffle bag.

"Every time that gun moves, she twitches, she hides. She's timid. It's terrifying," Strasser said.

Strasser said the man bolted from the store but dropped the duffle bag when he saw police.

Officers chased the man down an alley and that's when Strasser said heard a loud gunshot.

The gunman got away by car-jacking a vehicle, forcing the driver to take him to West Kelowna.

The bag with the stolen jewelry was recovered by police.

There have been no arrests in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Kelowna RCMP or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
