Police in Vancouver are seeking video evidence to help identify a suspect after a fight broke out and five men were stabbed in Gastown early Sunday morning.

Const. Brian Montague says at around 1:30 a.m. PT, a fight broke out at the Brooklyn Gastown bar, which is located on Powell Street near Columbia Street and has a door around the corner, on Alexander Street.

Police found five men with stab wounds, three of whom were taken to hospital.

One of the men, a 20-year-old, underwent surgery for serious injuries but was in stable condition Sunday morning, Montague said.

The other two men were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police taped off a section of Alexander Street between Columbia and Water street to collect evidence.

No arrests have been made and police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to police to contact the Vancouver Police Department's robbery and assault unit at 604-717-2541.
