Homicide investigators have confirmed the bodies of two older women were found inside a home at 13665 111A Avenue near 136 Street in North Surrey, B.C. on Thursday evening

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was first called to the home around 6:15 p.m. PT Thursday. Inside they found the bodies of two women, aged 61 and 83.

No details about the circumstances of their death or their identities have been released by police.

"The preliminary information suggests that the two victims knew each other and we do not believe that this incident is a random act," said a statement released by Cpl. Dominic Duchesneau on Friday morning.

Neighbours say a woman and her mother who lived in the home had not been seen for at least two weeks, and after a relative arrived to check on the home on Thursday, police arrived shortly afterwards.

Police appear to have completed their investigation at the home, but it remains behind police tape with a private security firm posted outside.
