Friends and family are mourning three people killed in a fire that tore through a Victoria home over the weekend.

A man and two women were killed when a fire broke out during a house party early Saturday morning.

The B.C. Coroners Service has not released the victim’s names, but the parents of Emily Morin and Mark Mitchell confirmed on a Facebook page their children were two of the victims.

Parents say the couple lived at the home, and Morin was a student at Pacific Rim College in Victoria.

James Christian is a teacher at the college.

"I just can't even imagine someone whose life should have been ahead of them, someone that their purpose was to heal others and heal the environment, someone who had a beautiful soul and someone who was trying to make a difference," he said.

The school is bringing in grief counsellors to help students and faculty deal with the deaths.

The third victim has not been identified.

Fire officials said several guests from out of town were staying at the house.

Damage to the home is estimated at $150,000. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
