Two people are dead after two separate accidents in B.C. on Monday — one near Mackenzie and another between Terrace and Prince Rupert.

One person was killed when a pickup truck and a logging truck collided on the Finlay Forest Service Road near Mackenzie just before 1 pm. PT Monday.

Police say the crash happened near the 93-kilometre park.

Investigators say poor road conditions may have been a factor.

Meanwhile, a northwest B.C. man was killed in a crash on Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert at about 10:30 a.m. PT Monday.

Police say a transport truck jackknifed and its trailer hit another transport truck heading in the other direction.

Investigators say icy and extreme weather conditions may have been a factor.
