Bar bouncers now face manslaughter or murder

Two employees of a Halifax bar will be back in court this week to face new charges in the death of a former customer.

Stephen Giffin died Christmas day after he was thrown out of Captain Eli's Restaurant and Lounge last Wednesday.

Police charged employees Roni Peter Laba and George Joseph MacDonald with aggravated assault. Police say those charges will be upgraded to manslaughter or murder.

The men are expected back in court on Wednesday or Thursday.
