An Amber Alert has been cancelled after Peel Regional Police in Ontario located two young boys they believed were abducted by their mother.

Police tweeted at about 7:15 p.m. on their official account that the alert was over.

"The mother and two boys have been located," the tweet says. "No further details at this time."

The two boys, an eight-year-old and a nine-year-old, were last seen at a foster home in Brampton, Ont., at around 11:20 a.m. ET Friday, Peel police said.

Police were looking for their mother, who was believed to be with an unknown male driving a 2006 silver Dodge Caravan that possibly has Quebec licence plates.

Police had said it was possible the mother was trying to take the boys to Quebec.

Amber Alerts are called in cases of suspected abduction.
