18 forest fires burning in Alberta
Three of the province's forest fires are burning out of control in the Slave Lake and Lac La Biche areas.
The largest of the 18 fires in Alberta was caused by humans, while most of the others were started by lightning.
Fire officials report, despite the dry conditions this spring, there have been 208 fires this year compared to 219 at this time last year. So far this year 4,004 hectares of forest has burned as compared to 4,509 last year.
