Starbucks Corp., the giant coffee retailer, said Wednesday it will soon provide its customers free access to The Economist, Marvel Comics and more at some of its U.S. stores as it expands its in-store digital network.

The firm made the announcement at its annual meeting in Seattle.

Starbucks already provides its customers free access to a number of subscription and Web services through the network it provides in stores.

The company said it is adding The Economist, ESPN Insider Rumor Center, Marvel Digital Comics and Mediabistro as providers.

The company launched its digital service last year in nearly 6,800 company-operated U.S. cafes.

Customers can use it for free with their computers, tablets or smartphones.
