Japanese quake slows global supply chains

Two Japanese automakers said Tuesday they are limiting production at North American factories.
Toyota is suspending overtime and production on Saturdays at all of its North American plants to conserve parts while it assesses their availability after a huge earthquake and tsunami Friday shut production at some of its plants in Japan.
Toyota has two assembly plants in southern Ontario employing about 6,500 people.
Subaru of America said it has suspended overtime at its only North American factory in Lafayette, Ind.
Japanese automakers Nissan and Honda have said their North American plants have not been affected.
