Transat links with big French travel agency

Canadian tour operator Transat A.T. says it is expanding its retail reach in France by teaming up with the country's largest travel agency network.
The Montreal-based company said Friday its Transat France unit has signed a commercial agreement with AFAT Voyages Selectour.
Transat France, one of the largest tour providers in France with annual revenue worth almost $800 million Cdn under the Vacances Transat and Look Voyages brands, will be "a partner of choice" when AFAT and Selectour merge on Jan. 1 into a 1,170-agency network.
Transat France's 35 Look Voyages agencies will be affiliated with AFAT Voyages Selectour, and an undisclosed number of AFAT or Selectour agencies will adopt the Look Voyages banner.
Look Voyages specializes in travel to the Mediterranean and Caribbean, while Vacances Transat focuses on trips to North America as well as Latin America, Asia, Africa, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Scotland and Ireland.
Meanwhile, Air Transat has extended a contract with Lufthansa Technik AG to service its Airbus A310 engines for another three years. The overhauls will take place in Hamburg.
