Telus is suing rival Rogers Communications, claiming its advertisements boasting of Canada's fastest and most reliable network are false and misleading.
Documents filed in B.C. Supreme Court by Telus say that since an upgrade on Nov. 5, a network run by Bell and Telus offers faster and more reliable service than the Rogers network.
Telus says the ads, which were introduced in 2007, are now false and misleading.
It is seeking a declaration from Rogers that its advertisements breached Canada's Competition Act, in addition to damages, compensation and an injunction from distributing the ads.
Telus's allegations have not been proven in court.
