Both sides in the attempt to unionize workers at Toronto's Rogers Centre are continuing to snipe at each other.

Rogers Media and company that runs the concessions have filed a complaint against the union behind the organizing drive, seeking to restrict union activity on Rogers Centre property.

That move comes in response to a complaint by the union that the two companies have been intimidating workers.

"A few days ago we got copied with some charges that both Rogers Centre and Delaware North Sportservice have filed against the union now, saying they don't think we should have the right to talk to employees during games," said Alex Dagg an organizer with Unite Here.

She said Rogers Media and Delaware North want the information campaign to be kept outside the stadium.

Unite Here is an international union that represents about 450,000 mainly textile, hotel and food-service workers.

On Sunday, union volunteers were outside the stadium handing out leaflets.

Workers at the Rogers Centre make about $8.50 per hour, compared to unionized workers at the Air Canada Centre, who make $13.50.

Paul Godfrey, the president of the Rogers Centre and the Blue Jays, said the union is free to talk to whoever it wants to as long as it doesn't affect operations.

"How would you feel if you were in line and you had bought a ticket and somebody was in front of you trying to convince the employee behind the stand to join a union, and you wanted your, your hot dog and beer? How would you feel?"

A spokesperson for Delaware North said the decision to unionize is up to employees.

Workers got a boost to their cause last week when the Major League Baseball Players Association voiced its support for the union drive.

"Along with the players on the field, you are part of the ballpark experience. We want you to know that the players are behind you in your drive to form a union,"  wrote, Donald Fehr, executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association in a letter to workers.

Unite Here already represents workers at Fenway Park, Jacobs Field and Yankee Stadium.
