Contract talks between New Flyer Industries Inc. and striking unionized workers at a Winnipeg plant have been called off after only one day.
The two sides quit negotiating by mutual agreement, the company said Friday. The firm added that no new talks have been scheduled.
New Flyer (TSX:NFI.un) makes transit buses and has about 1,800 employees. The company said the Winnipeg plant's unionized workforce represents about 37 per cent of its total staff.
The striking workers, who are represented by the Canadian Auto Workers Union, set up picket lines on April 5.

New Flyer said it is continuing to transfer its bus shell operations to its manufacturing facilities in Minnesota from its Winnipeg plant, and continues to build and deliver buses to its customers.
Units of New Flyer were down 25 cents at $7.85 on the TSX .
