Dennis Gartman, editor of the Gartman Letter, on the outlook for gold
- December 30, 2008 9:06 AM |
- By Michael Hlinka
By David Blair, CBC business columnist.
David Blair interviews Dennis Gartman, editor of the Gartman Letter, about the outlook for gold prices (air date Dec 29).
Gold is supposed to be a safe place to hide your money when the going gets rough elsewhere in the economy. That's hasn't been the case this year. Gold bullion has definitely NOT gone to the stratosphere as had been predicted by many. CBC business reporter David Blair speaks to Dennis Gartman, a well-known and outspoken U.S. investor, and the author of the Gartman Letter.

If gold and silver was not being manipulated by the US Treasurey AND JP Morgan chase, and a couple other banks ,Gold would be $20000,
It still has done way better than all stocks
AND if the manipulators did not do HUGE NAKED SHORT SALES of Comex Gold Contracts, regularly
the price of gold and silver would be HUGE
Well Dennis Gartman is ANTI GOLD any,so what do you expect he is going to say.
Look what the stock markets did,
This article is a joke, and abviously David Blair, is as anti gold as Gartman ,or he would not do such a stupid write up to make gold look like it did not do well.
If the gov't did not natoinalize all the big banks and the big insurance companies, and the car companies, you would seen how GOLD SHONE.
DENNIS GARTMAN
Hey David Blair .Try going and buying an ounce of gold in Canada.
You would have to pay. $1,100.00.
So I think Gold is doing very well THANK YOU.
Next you's will be saying ,Gold got thrown out with the rubbish.
What a CROC.
GOLD RULES
Well either David is awfully slow at posting his readers comments OR he only puts comments up that he agrees with,
What is it DAVID ?
Amazing how gold is unpredictable. As year 2008 passed by, some events as the bailout, the loan crisis, etc, for sure I thought that gold would be strong. Instead the US dollars is stronger and gold drops.
Where's the logic behind this? Anyways Happy New Year to All.
David Blair, your article seems to be a waste of time.I can't believe you actually get paid to do such a poor job.
The number of comments tells a story ,of how little interest people have in your aricle.
I am sure there were a few comments, just none that you wanted to hear
Keep up the good work on misleading the public, and your antigold rhetoric.
Cheers.!
David, I appreciate your balanced article and interview with Dennis Gartman.
I agreed with most of what Dennis has said, and this concurs with many other experts for the most part.
I think gold will rebound strongly once inflationary pressures hit, so I am slowly accumulating it.
My philosophy is sell when prices go up and buy when prices are cheap, and not to follow a trend which these days could reverse quickly. But perhaps Dennis is smarter than I am in this area.
Bill, I appreciate some of your thoughts but I don't like the negative tone of your words. Please try to be factual and less abrasive.
