Husky Energy Inc. second-quarter profits increased by almost fourfold as the company benfited from higher production.
The Calgary-based firm posted earnings of $669 million, or 71cents per share. That compares to $179 million or 19 cents per share a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings per share were 72 cents, beating average analyst expectations of 69 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters.
Revenues increased to $6.7 billion from $4.6 billion.
The company said production averaged 311,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day during the quarter, an increase from 283,900 boe a year earlier.
