Andrea Holwegner
Andrea Holwegner is a registered dietitian and founder and president of Health Stand Nutrition Consulting in Calgary. She has advised hundreds of individuals and groups on the benefits of healthy eating. She has acted as a regular consultant to Team Canada athletes via the Canadian Sports Centre Calgary. Holwegner — who also goes by the moniker the Chocoholic Dietitian — says the recipe for success is learning how to enjoy guilt-free eating while balancing all foods. She spends much of her spare time in the Canadian Rockies pursuing her favourite sports of backcountry skiing, hiking and rock climbing.
Dr. Melanie Barwick
Dr. Melanie Barwick is a registered psychologist with a primary role as a health systems scientist in the Community Health Systems Resource Group at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She leads Ontario’s outcome measurement initiative, specializes in children's mental health and studies the best ways in which we can make people aware of the latest research to benefit children, youth and their families. She is assistant professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Public Health Sciences at the University of Toronto.
Russell Gunner
Russell Gunner is a certified athletic therapist with over 17 years' experience in the sports medicine field. He was an assistant athletic therapist with the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team and an assistant fitness evaluator with the New York Islanders. Currently, Gunner is the head athletic therapist for both the Mississauga and Oakville marathons. He owns a private practice at Club Physio Plus in Mississauga. He competes in triathlons.
Dr. Brett Taylor
Dr. Brett Taylor is an associate professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at Dalhousie University. He works as an emergency pediatrician and researcher at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. He is in the process of obtaining a master's degree in health informatics, also through Dalhousie. Taylor also maintains a website for parents called — The Virtual Pediatrician.
Lorne Swetlikoff, N.D.
Lorne Swetlikoff, N.D. is a licenced naturopathic physician and current president of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia. Swetlikoff believes that health is a process, not an event. He embraces the healing power of nature and the human body through traditional and cutting edge diagnostics and treatments to provide effective intervention and healing strategies for his patients. From 1994 to 2007, Swetlikoff founded and operated the Vancouver Naturopathic Clinic that specialized in chronic disease management and wellness. He is currently designing a wellness retreat near his home in Nelson, B.C. that will provide his patients with extended services.
