Choco-lit: The Art of Chocolate
CBC News Online | February 12, 2004
Mozart made reference to chocolate in his opera "Cosi fan tutte."
Chocolate's first role in a major motion picture was in 1933's Dinner at Eight starring Jean Harlow.
Probably the most famous book with the word "chocolate" in its title is Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was made into a movie starring Gene Wilder. Other books by Dahl that have been made into movies include, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Witches, and The BFG.
Chocolate syrup was used instead of fake blood for the famous shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.
Forrest Gump's famous quote "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" isn't entirely accurate. Many boxes of chocolates have diagrams that tell you exactly what's inside.
The movie Chocolat was nominated in 2001 for five Academy Awards including Best Picture.
