 PENSION CALCULATOR | Figuring out how much money you need to set aside to live comfortably in retirement is no easy task. You could go through a ream of paper and dozens of pencils, manually crunching the numbers. Or if you're a whiz with your computer, you might devise a spreadsheet that'll calculate the future worth of what you have right now. Or you could pick one of the dozens of retirement calculators available on the web. Some are good, some leave a bit to be desired. We searched for one that would cover most of the bases in an objective way: one that wouldn't be too tied to an organization looking to sell you stuff. The Canadian Retirement Income Calculator does all that and more. It's the brainchild of Human Resources Development Canada. Get your papers together and be prepared to spend about half an hour entering your information - and find out whether you're on track to meet your retirement goals.
