Hollywood loves to crown an "it girl" and, after a slew of high-profile releases, Jessica Chastain is the latest actress granted the title.

The American performer follows recent films like Palme d'Or-winner The Tree of Life, box-office draw The Help and Wilde Salome (which debuted at the Venice Film Festival) with a pair of dramas at the 2011 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival: the modernized Shakespearean tragedy Coriolanus and psychological tale Take Shelter.

The rising young star talked to CBC TV and CBC Radio's Q about her busy year.
