Police in Kelowna, B.C., got some help from a television celebrity while trying to keep an out-of-control dog out of traffic Tuesday night.

Two officers noticed a German shepherd running into moving traffic on a busy street.

They were trying to keep the dog out of trouble by maneuvering their vehicles, when Brad Pattison, the host of the TV reality show At the End of My Leash, showed up.

Pattison said a friend called him and told him what was happening so he rushed to the scene. He caught the shepherd.

Pattison, a trainer for 15 years, advocates a no-nonsense approach to dogs on his Slice show, At the End of My Leash.

The dog is now safe and has been turned over to Kelowna Dog Control.
