Though not a tempest of Rosie O'Donnell standards, The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck has racked up another celebrity critic.
In a message to his fans Monday evening, singer Barry Manilow said he had bowed out of a Tuesday appearance on the daytime TV chat fest because he disagrees with the conservative Hasselbeck's views.
Barry Manilow said he bowed out of Tuesday's appearance because he could not "compromise [his] beliefs." He's been a guest on The View twice in the past year.

Manilow said that he had requested to be interviewed by one of the show's other co-hosts, which include Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
"Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request so I bowed out," he wrote in a statement on his website.
"It's really too bad because I've always been a big supporter of the show, but I cannot compromise my beliefs."
The 64-year-old singer is a Democratic supporter who has donated money to the campaigns of several high-profile Democratic candidates, including Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton and John Edwards.
Hasselbeck is a fervent supporter of U.S. President George W. Bush and his policies.
According to some media reports, however, producers of The View were the ones who cancelled Manilow's appearance because of his demands.
Manilow has twice appeared on the show in the past year and had been set to promote the release of his new album, The Greatest Songs of the Seventies, released on Tuesday.
In late May, Hasselbeck was involved in the heated exchange that eventually led to controversial former co-host O'Donnell's early exit from the program.
O'Donnell, whose outspoken manner and strong political views drew a host of new viewers to The View during her nine-month stint, had been scheduled to end her run in mid-June.
In a segment following the on-air confrontation, actress Alicia Silverstone snubbed Hasselbeck when coming onstage for her appearance.

FILM REVIEW: Men in Black 3 by Eli Glasner May. 25, 2012 11:40 AM Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back in the action sequel Men in Black 3, a third instalment of a series now 15 years old. Though new addition Josh Brolin manages some amazing mimicry as a younger version of Jones, the story doesn't measure up to the weird and wonderful charms of the original, says film reviewer Eli Glasner.
