Adrian Mainella, a celebrity stylist and fashion guru who covered the Emmys and Oscars for ET Canada and Star Daily, has become the new host of Fashion File.
Mainella beat New Brunswick-born actress Mary Kitchen in the final of CBC Television's Fashion File Host Hunt Thursday evening.
After a gruelling assignment covering Fashion Week in New York, he was chosen winner of the host hunt show by a panel of three expert judges.
Mainella will replace longtime host Tim Blanks, who is retiring from Fashion File after 17 years.
Mainella studied acting and fashion marketing at university, then became a fashion buyer and later general manager of the Toronto Fashion Group.
In this role, he attended fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent and Jean Paul Gaultier.
He has styled celebrities as diverse as Rebecca Romjin, Elton John, Kim Basinger, Robin Williams, Holly Hunter and Wayne Gretzky. He was also host of Global TV's Diva on a Dime.
As host of the internationally syndicated show Fashion File, Mainella will bring viewers the latest news, reviews, glamour and celebrity from the international fashion scene and author a monthly column in Fashion Magazine.
