Less than three months after Stephen Colbert was honoured for coining the word of 2006 — "truthiness" — the U.S. satirist and TV host has added Person of the Year to his list of accolades.
The faux conservative funnyman was given the latest distinction by the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival late Friday in Aspen, Colo.

"What an honour: an honour to receive and an honour for you to give to me," said Colbert, who is wont to laud himself during his hit Comedy Central show The Colbert Report.
Colbert based his tough-talking, ultra-patriotic television persona on bombastic Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly.
He said Friday that he was surprised at the continued popularity of the shtick he first developed as a senior correspondent with Jon Stewart's news satire The Daily Show.
"I never in a million years imagined that a character who was essentially based on O'Reilly a year and a half ago" would have this honour, said Colbert.
He also suggested he would get a week's worth of content out of the Aspen prize.
Book to tackle best, worst of U.S. — including hygiene
Colbert said he is writing a book about "what is best and what's worst about America. You know, it's 20 subjects … all of the important things, the culture war, religion, hygiene, sports."
In December, the Colbert-coined "truthiness" was declared the word of the year for 2006 by dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster. Colbert has defined the word as "truth that comes from the gut, not books."
In January, the southern Ontario city of Oshawa announced it would host Stephen Colbert Day in March, after its mayor lost a bet to Colbert over a junior hockey game.
The matchup was between the Oshawa Generals and the Saginaw Spirit, a Michigan-based team that has a Colbert-look-alike mascot named Steagle Colbeagle the Eagle.
Founded in 1995, the HBO-organized U.S. Comedy Arts Festival features standup comedy performances, appearances by the casts of television shows and tributes to veteran comedians.
