American network CBS has renewed its bet on Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy until 2011-12.

The long-running game shows are among the top shows in syndication, Roger King, chief executive officer of CBS Television Distribution, said Tuesday after announcing the renewals.

Wheel of Fortune, a top-rated show, still draws 46 million viewers weekly after running for 24 seasons.

Jeopardy is in its 23rd season and is seen by 37 million viewers a week.

Sony Pictures Television, creator of the shows, says it has recently moved them to high-definition format.

"After more than 20 years, these are still two of the highest-rated shows in syndication, and station demand for them remains high," King said.

The renewal covers about a third of CBS affiliates across the U.S.

But it is not a guarantee of job security for Jeopardy host Alex Trebek or Wheel of Fortune 's Pat Sajak and Vanna White, King said. CBS said talent contracts are negotiated separately.

Another long-running daytime game show, The Price is Right, is seeking a new host after Bob Barker announced he would retire this year.
