The Mirvish Toronto production of The Wizard of Oz will go on the road this summer, with dates in Las Vegas and other U.S. cities.

The Wizard of Oz is a new musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, retelling the classic story with new songs and a Canadian cast.

It had its North American premiere on Jan. 13 in Toronto, with the lead played by Danielle Wade, the young Canadian talent who was chosen to play Dorothy through the CBC reality show Over the Rainbow.

U.S. websites have begun selling tickets for the touring show, though Mirvish has not yet announced when the tour will begin.

It is set to hit the stage in Las Vegas on Sept. 10-15 at the Smith Centre for the Performing Arts, a new cultural centre.

Tickets are also being sold for dates in Los Angeles and St. Paul, Minn. By next July, the touring show will be back in Canada, with a scheduled appearance at the National Arts Centre.

Mirvish is selling tickets for the production in Toronto dating up to Aug. 7 and it will likely end its run in Toronto later in August  to get ready for the tour.

Mirvish could not confirm if Wade, or others from the original cast, would remain during the tour.
